Yalikavak.. great views, windmills and cool breezes
Yalikavak is located 18 kms west of Bodrum. According to experts, the history of Yalikavak
goes back as early as 2000 BC. There was a Lelegian settlement in this region. Today,
rock-cut tombs can be seen on the hills above Yalikavak. Famous sponge divers of the
region actually came from Yalikavak.
Yalikavak has a nice harbour and beautiful little bays like Kudur and Tilkicik Bay. With the
opening of a marina, in recent years Yalikavak has become a very popular resort in itself.
Authentic restaurants, cafes, shops and friendly staff will make your visit to Yalikavak even
more enjoyable. On hot summer days, you would certainly appreciate the cool breezes of Yalikavak.
Just walk on the promenade along the sea, enjoy a drink in a seaside cafe and watch the
sunset. For those who like hiking, there are some trails on the hills to explore taking in
some traditional windmills and great sea views.
